Maggie Oldham joined Lancashire and South Cumbria ICB in September 2022, having just celebrated 40 years since she first joined the NHS.

Maggie started her career in the NHS on the Youth Opportunities Programme working in the pathology department of Booth Hall Children’s Hospital. She went on to qualify as a nurse and held numerous nursing roles before moving into general management. Maggie has been an executive director of provider organisations since 2007, and held CEO roles for seven years, most recently CEO of the Isle of Wight NHS Trust.

Maggie has spent the last 20 years working in challenged trusts and systems and has a real drive and passion to improve services for our local communities. A strong belief of hers is that improvement in services is predicated on looking after staff.

In her time working in the healthcare system, Maggie has seen many changes to how the NHS is structured and governed, and she is optimistic that the focus we now have on working as locally as possible within our ICB is going to provide more opportunity to put resources closer to communities, to really help tackle the health and care needs of our population.
