Helpful support and services

There are many local charities and organisations who offer support via their services to people who need extra help. One is Lancashire Fire and Rescue (LFRS) who conduct home safety visits which can help prevent a serious accident or injury.

The service is particularly relevant to those who may be considered vulnerable such as those with a disability, who live alone, are living with a mental health condition or struggle to get around the house.

LFRS will assess the risk presented to them and will provide information in the form of advice or a Safe and Well visit depending on the level of risk presented. During a visit fire safety information including escape plans and bedtime routine are discussed, smoke detectors fitted and appropriate equipment can be provided to reduce fire risk.
