Shaping Care Together Joint Committee - 13 March 2026
The joint committee made up of the integrated care boards of NHS Cheshire and Merseyside and NHS Lancashire and South Cumbria are meeting on Friday, 13 March to make a final decision on where A&E services should be located in Southport, Formby and West Lancashire. The meeting will start at 10am on Friday, 13 March at Ormskirk Civic Hall, Southport Road, Ormskirk, L39 1LN.
An independent report looking at responses to the Shaping Care Together consultation on A&E services across Southport, Formby and West Lancashire has been published.
The report, produced by the Centre for Health Communication Research, looks at responses from more than 5,000 people who completed the consultation survey, as well as thousands more who took part in public meetings and other engagement activities.
At this stage, no decisions have been made. All feedback is being used to develop the programme’s Decision-Making Business Case (DMBC). It takes into account the consultation findings alongside clinical, financial, workforce and quality evidence.
The DMBC will be presented and considered at the joint committee meeting taking place on 13 March. Members of the public are invited to observe the formal meeting being held in public. However, observers are not permitted to join in the discussion. While the venue is now at capacity (100 people) we are also livestreaming the meeting online on the following YouTube Channel
Please note that a meeting in public is where members of the community can attend to observe a formal meeting. However, observers are not permitted to join in the discussion.
