Area SEND inspection for Blackburn with Darwen

Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission (CQC) have announced that they will be carrying out an inspection of education, health, and care services for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in Blackburn with Darwen. This type of inspection is called an area SEND inspection.

The inspection will last for three weeks, from Monday 24 November to Friday 12 December 2025.

As part of the process, the inspectors want to hear from:

• children and young people with SEND
• their parents and carers
• the professionals who support them

The surveys are voluntary and you do not have to take part. However, your answers will help them to understand what is working well and what could be better.
