Free health assessment bus in Fylde Coast throughout August

Date posted: 3rd August 2022

The highly successful mini health assessment drop in bus for people living on the Fylde Coast has been extended again thanks to the impact it is having on patients and preventing ill health.

The health assessment bus was introduced in March as a way to clear backlogs of people who were reluctant to make an appointment for a health check-up with their GP practice during the pandemic. It was intended as a temporary service for just one month but having seen over 1,300 people in March, it has remained popular each month since.

The bus is back for August at the following locations:

 7 August

Lytham Primary Care Centre car park - FY6 0FA

 9am-7pm

 8 August

 Over Wyre Medical Centre -  FY6 0FA

 9am-7pm

 13 August

 Fleetwood Affinity - FY7 6AE

 9am-7pm

 21 August

 Poulton Civic Centre - FY6 7PU

 9am-7pm

 23 August

 Staining Village Hall - FY3 0DD

 9am-7pm

 27 August

 Morrisons Cleveleys - FY5 3TS

 9am-7pm

 31 August

 Lidl Bloomfield Road - FY1 6JW

 9am-7pm

As with previous sessions, there is no appointment needed - you can just show up for a health check. Ear syringing is also available but if you wish to have this done, you will need to prepare your ears with a few drops of olive oil (or similar) for five days before attending.

The service is not a treatment service and will carry out checks such as weight, blood pressure and heart rate.

Any patients who are deemed as needing further checks will be referred to their GP. Over 16s only.
