ICB chief executrive Aaron Cummins has continued his programme of engagement across Lancashire and South Cumbria, helping to strengthen relationships and share learning between places. This time, his visit took him to Blackpool, where he met with local partners and frontline teams to see how organisations are working together to improve health outcomes and support communities.

The visit brought together colleagues from Blackpool Council Public Health, Healthwatch, population health, primary care and the Blackpool Recovery Hub.

The visit began at the Health and Social Care Centre, Bickerstaffe House, where Aaron met with ICB colleagues and local partners for an overview of collaborative working in Blackpool. This session highlighted how organisations are working together to address local health inequalities and support communities.

He then visited the Claremont area, one of Blackpool’s priority neighbourhoods and heard about proactive care, with partners sharing early insights from work to support residents before their health needs escalate.

The visit concluded at the Blackpool Recovery Hub, where partners discussed the strong collaboration developed over the past five years to support people experiencing multiple disadvantage. The session explored how health, local authority and voluntary sector teams are working together to provide joined-up support for some of the most vulnerable people in the community.
