Process begins to recruit clinical and care professional leaders for Lancashire and South Cumbria ICB
Date posted: 15th May 2023Five clinical and care professional leadership roles are being advertised as part of Lancashire and South Cumbria ICB’s new clinical and care professional leadership framework.
Clinical and care professional leadership is a key part of the decision-making process for Lancashire and South Cumbria ICB which ensures that the voices of experienced clinicians are heard within every strand of transformation and service development.
NHS England published implementation guidance on their Clinical and Care Professional Framework (CCPL) last year to enable a multi-professional leadership to be created within ICBs.
Over the last year, with input from existing professional leadership and engagement networks, a multi-disciplinary leadership model has been developed, which ensures a focus on local places, as well as ensuring a robust and integrated leadership profile across Lancashire and South Cumbria.
The final model has been agreed and the process has now begun to recruit to a number of key positions.
The clinical and care professional leadership framework ensures that local places remain central to delivery, and therefore the recruitment for five place-based clinical and care professional leads are amongst the first roles to be launched.
As a leader, they will ensure links between all levels of care, the place and all clinical and care professionals and use their experience and expertise to engage, inform and support improvements in care. The place-based leads will provide clinical and care professional leadership to support the director of health and care integration in the development and delivery of the ambitions of the ICB, ICP and place and the integration of health and social care.
We are now recruiting place-based leadership roles to cover South Cumbria, Lancashire and Blackburn with Darwen, with three of the roles covering the sub-divisions of Lancashire; central and west, north and east.
Once these roles have been recruited to, the appointed place leads will be involved in the recruitment for the remaining place roles. Once the recruitment process is complete, each of our places will have a clinical lead for cancer, digital, quality and mental health.
