Update on Coniston Medical Practice - February 2026

As agreed, we can now provide a further update regarding Coniston Medical Practice.

On 9 February we announced that no bids had been received to take on the contract to provide general medical services at Coniston Medical Practice following a six-week tender process.

The ICB will continue to consider options for how patients in the Coniston area can continue to receive services.

In order to support this, the ICB has approved an extension of the temporary caretaker contract for a further three months, up to 30 June 2026, and the Morecambe Bay Primary Care Collaborative has agreed to continue managing the practice during this time.
