COVID-19 spring vaccinations are now available
Free NHS COVID-19 vaccinations are available this spring to protect those most at risk from serious illness. COVID-19 hasn’t gone away, it can still be very dangerous, particularly for older people and those with a weakened immune system. Protection from a previous vaccination can fade over time, and the virus can change, so it’s important to top up your protection if you are eligible.
Who is eligible?
You can get a free COVID-19 vaccine this spring if you are:
- aged 75 or over (including those who turn 75 by 30 June 2026)
- a resident in a care home for older adults
- aged 6 months or over with a weakened immune system (due to a health condition or treatment)
You may have a weakened immune system if you have or have had blood cancer, an organ or stem cell transplant, HIV, or a genetic disorder affecting your immune system, or if you are having or have recently had chemotherapy, biological therapy, radiotherapy, or immunosuppressive treatment. This is not an exhaustive list - speak to your GP, pharmacist, or specialist if you are unsure.
When can I get vaccinated?
Appointments are available from 13 April to 30 June 2026. You do not need to wait to be invited, if you know you are eligible, you can book now.
How to book
Housebound residents: Contact your GP surgery to arrange a home visit
Care home residents will be offered the vaccine through their care home.
