We propose that the acute hospitals in Lancashire and South Cumbria work together as one vascular network hosted by Lancashire Teaching Hospitals, with all planned and emergency inpatient vascular surgery taking place at one site (Royal Preston Hospital) as a single specialist centre, rather than across two sites as currently happens (Royal Preston Hospital and Royal Blackburn Hospital).
