Director of Governance and Company Secretary – Debra Atkinson

Debra attends the Board in a regular capacity, providing expert advice on governance, statutory compliance, and decision-making processes.

With significant experience in NHS governance, Debra plays a key role in supporting the Board to operate effectively, ensuring that meetings are conducted in line with best practice, regulatory requirements, and the highest standards of transparency and accountability. She also oversees corporate governance frameworks, risk management, and organisational assurance arrangements across the ICB.

Debra is passionate about continuous improvement and is committed to strengthening governance arrangements, so they remain practical, proportionate, and responsive to an evolving health and care system.
