Chief executive - Aaron Cummins

Aaron joined NHS Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care Board as chief executive in October 2025. He brings more than two decades of NHS leadership experience, with a background in finance, transformation, and organisational development across acute, specialist, and system-level roles.
 
Before joining the ICB, Aaron served as chief executive of University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust (UHMBT) from 2018, having previously been the Trust’s director of finance and deputy chief executive. Aaron was also lead chief executive for Lancashire and South Cumbria Provider Collaborative as well as partner member on at the ICB Board.
 
Prior to his time in Morecambe Bay, Aaron was director of finance and deputy chief executive at Mid-Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust, appointed in 2012. He began his executive career as director of finance at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in 2009.
 
Aaron started his NHS career in 2000 as a national graduate trainee and went on to hold a series of senior finance and operational management posts. Alongside his executive roles, he has contributed to national work as chair of the Foundation Trust Network Finance Directors’ Forum and the Government Procurement Services Customer Board, and as a member of the National Procurement Council.
