8 February 2024 Primary Care Commissioning

The primary care commissioning committee meeting is taking place at 10am on 8 February 2024 virually on Microsoft Teams.  If you would like to join the committee virtually please let us know via our contact us form and we will send you the joining information on the morning of the meeting.

In the Primary Care Commissioning Committee on 18 January, it was acknowledged that it is unlikely to be the February committee when the Withnell Health Centre procurement option would next be discussed. We can confirm that this will not be on the agenda for the meeting on 8 February 2024. We will confirm as soon as possible when the item will come back to the committee.

Submitting questions in advance

The Primary Care Commissioning Committee took place on 8th February 2024.

The full minutes with details of the discussion within the meeting will be included with the papers for the next meeting for approval at the next committee on 14th March 2024

It was noted in the meeting that two questions from members of the public were received. One did not relate to an item on the agenda. The other question related to item 5a which was incorporated into the discussion on the item. The committee agreed to respond in writing.

The following key decisions were made in the committee:

Item 4: Minutes of the meeting Held on 18 January 2024  

Decision: The minutes were agreed as an accurate record from the previous meeting.

  1. 5a: Primary Dental Care Prioritisation Framework

The purpose of the paper was to update the Committee on the progress of developing a resource prioritisation framework to support the distribution of primary care dental and oral health resources.   

Decision: The committee noted the contents of the report and agreed to the implementation of the framework with immediate effect.

Item 5b: General Practice Capital Investment

This paper was presented to the committee to provide detail of and seek approvement from the committee to the following:

  • The proposed General Practice Information Technology (GPIT) capital                investment.
  • A General Practice Improvement Grant (GPIG) request for Castle Medical          Group.

Decision: The committee approved both the GPIT investment and the GPIG request from Castle Medical Group, Clitheroe.
