Get vaccinated. Get winter strong.

The winter vaccination programme provides vital protection to those eligible and their families over winter. Viruses common in winter can make some people very unwell and result in serious problems that may need hospital care. They can even be life threatening. Protection from vaccines fades over time so even if you’ve been vaccinated before it's important to top up your protection.

Flu vaccinations

If you are eligible you can get vaccinated against flu until the end of March. Throughout February and March vaccination buses will be touring Lancashire and South Cumbria offering pop-up flu vaccination clinics.

The flu vaccine is recommended for people at higher risk of getting seriously ill from flu.

You can get the free NHS flu vaccine if you:

  • are aged 65 or over (including those who will be 65 by 31 March 2025)
  • have certain long-term health conditions
  • are pregnant
  • live in a care home
  • are the main carer for an older or disabled person, or receive a carer's allowance
  • live with someone who has a weakened immune system

Frontline health and social care workers can also get a flu vaccine through their employer.

Flu vaccinations are availble at the vaccinaiton bus and at pop-up clinics across Lancashire & South Cumbria. If you are aged 18 and above and are eligible for a free vaccination on the NHS, you can pop along to any of the sessions listed below - no appointment needed.

You can also, find a pharmacy offering free flu vaccinations in your area.
