Chief Finance Officer (acting) - Mark Bakewell

Mark's NHS career began in 2001, working in the finance department at a mental health trust in the West Midlands.

He later relocated to the North West and progressed through a variety of NHS finance roles, before becoming the chief finance officer at NHS Wirral Clinical Commissioning Group in April 2013.

In 2016, he joined NHS Liverpool Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and was appointed chief finance and contracting officer in 2018, a role that was later extended to also cover NHS Knowsley CCG.

Mark became the deputy director of finance at Cheshire and Merseyside ICB in July 2022, and spent nearly two years as place director in Liverpool from early 2023, stepping back into cover the ICB chief finance officer role on an interim basis from December 2024.

Mark has four children, enjoys watching and coaching sport, and travelling the world.
