Support for those with diabetes

Type 2 Diabetes Path to Remission Programme (T2DR) - Formally “Low calorie diet”

In some cases, where a doctor has carried out certain checks, people with Type 2 diabetes may also be eligible for a new low calorie diet programme.

This programme is a specialist and strictly controlled diet which includes a short period of meal replacements.

It aims to help reverse or put type 2 diabetes into remission through a year-long weight loss programme.

Due to the nature of the programme some people may not be eligible so please consult with your GP about access to this programme.

Comments from participants:

“I've noticed food tastes much more nicer than I remember. I used to just shove it in and that was that now I savour every mouthful! I've got a liking for red apples i didn't care for them much before. It's like a new me..a good new me.”

“Thank you so much I'm really pleased that I've had help to do this and I am very pleased to get this far and trying new foods is brilliant and keeping my weight down I am so pleased and proud of myself thank you so much.”

“I'm so pleased with my sugars I couldn't believe it when I saw the 4 so I double checked!”

“I have got so much more energy, I'm not getting so out of breath when walking or doing an activity which is great. Also my daughter has noticed my skin is so clear, I didn't have bad skin to begin with, my shape is changing also. I just feel so much more healthier.”
